Water is the juice of life. Where there is water, there is life. The earth, thus far the only known planet with life on it, is three-fourths water. That makes water the most abundant resource of planet earth.
As if that were not sufficient hint to let us know that water is absolutely essential to life and health, the Creator designed the bodies of organisms (living things) to be mostly comprised of water.
The following info about the significance of water comes from the US Geological Survey's Water Science for Schools :
When it comes to healthy drinking water, there are varieties of that, from the costly and fancy to the simple and affordable. I am a simple guy, who is not into spending more than I need to, so I keep my water that way.
Two types of drinking water have proven effective for my health and the health of my wife: distilled water and reverse osmosis water (RO water for short). We buy distilled water from Kroger or Wal-Mart, and we buy RO water from Gene's Health Foods Store at 59 cents per gallon. (Sorry, guys and gals, who spend hefty sums on rip-off bottled water that is far inferior to distilled or RO water!)
Another thing I have learned is that the time of day you drink water can determine to what extent quality water can improve your health. The best times to drink water are when you first wake up in the morning, about 30 minutes before breakfast. Your taste buds hate for you drink water that early, but the cells of your body will love on you for saving them from starving and watering them like a flower garden first thing in the morning.
Also, drink water 30 minutes before lunch, and 30 minutes before supper or dinner. This simple act conditions your body to digest food much more efficiently than when you drink gobs of water while you eat, which is what most people do. In fact, take time to chew your food very well, so you won't need to drink in order to flush your throat while you eat.
It is a healthy practice is to drink healthy water before you go to the restaurant. Then when they hand you that huge glass of junk drink or inferior water, it just sits on your table for display. That way you actually have stomach room to eat much of the food you paid for, rather than spending all that money plus tip on the drink and endless refills, which is exactly what the restaurant manager hopes you will do: pay for the food but fill up on the drinks ... more profit for the food house.
Finally, when fasting, replace with water every meal that you skip. That is, drink water at the time you would have eaten breakfast, lunch or supper, however many meals you are able to skip for fasting. I call it water fasting, and it is an effective method for getting the body to cleanse itself on a weekly basis.
A little twist to drinking all that good water is to add Bragg's ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) to the water. No, it does not taste great, but it does all kinds of great things inside your body. Remember, unlike the typical foodster, you eat and drink primarily for health, not for taste.
Hopefully, with these simple, practical tips, you can start or continue to water your way to better health. It might even get your brain to work better, since 70% of it is water-based. And who can have anything against becoming smarter just by drinking water? Not any water now...really healthy water. ~mogama~
