SearchWarp: What I Like About Our Internet Article Community

I couldn't believe my eyes when I read in this week's writing assignment email, " this is the last week that SearchWarp will be in existence. " What? Then I read the rest of the email. The party is not at all over. Ahhh...
Now that I've caught my breath, let me type my final rant about SearchWarp.
First, I have spent several years trying to figure out the meaning "SearchWarp". The fact that I wanted to nail down the source of the name kept me interested. I still don't know.
The sense of community at SearchWarp has no equal in the online article world. I have always felt like I could pick up the phone and call Bruce, Jean, or any other members of the SearchWarp community. I have exchanged personal emails with several members over these years, and still do.
Along that line, the Fan feature has been a blast. I look like a smiley face every time I see my list of fans in the Control Panel, and how the vast majority of them have remained on my list, though I have disagreed with a good number of them in our exchange of comments. I feel like I have made lifelong friends at SearchWarp. Some of my Facebook and LinkedIn connections are friends I made at SearchWarp. Indeed, the community has lived up to its slogan, "The place where you belong".
Bruce and the team never ceased to improve the feel and features of the site. There has been a relentless effort to innovate so that SearchWarp remains on the cutting edge of Internet technology.
The emphasis on promoting unknown or little-known online writers has unearthed many of us, who were hardly on the Internet article and blogging radar before we joined SearchWarp. I speak from firsthand experience.
I like the reward system, the many ways SearchWarp seeks to get writers recognized, whether it be with badges or stars.
The instant post process tops the list for me. That was the main feature that peeled me away from the other major online article website that had me waiting for hours to get my article approved by their editors. Though we the writers are the content providers for Internet article sites, those other guys behaved like Administration were the masters, and writers their slaves.
SearchWarp has understood the win-win attitude, the "we're in this thing together" approach, whereby SearchWarp has promoted the site by promoting the writers.
The crown of my SearchWarp experience is that I was connected with the owner of Opine Books, which has become the publisher of my upcoming book. In addition to linking us, Bruce personally motivated me to get the manuscript published. Actually, Bruce and Jean did much more than motivated me, but I won't spill the pretty details here.
I could go on... Thanks, SearchWarp, thanks. You've been very good to me, to my writing hobby that may turn writing career. You may be gone but you will not be forgotten. In that sense, there is no need for me to say, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust." No need for cremation or burial here. Just precious memories. Good-bye, my dear writers' canvas, good-bye. You'll be on my mind as I learn to dance with WryteStuff, where the party goes on.

Great job, Mogama. I also love seeing familiar faces all in proper places:-) Bruce can tell the origin of the Searchwarp name. It is very interesting and makes everything make sense. When Bruce tells the story, you will definitely have an "aHA!" moment. Blessings.

Fabulous, Mogama, you've captured everything that's so wonderful about SearchWarp and about Jean and Bruce. I laughed when I read your puzzlement at the name - I've never figured it out! Congratulations on your latest book, may you have great success with it. I think you're a great writer. Please log in to respond to this comment.Hi there, Jennifer. From reading Bruce's article on the transition from SearchWarp to WryteStuff, I see a good clue to the meaning of SearchWarp. But this clue only applies to the "search" part; it's the "warp" that's yet to be solved, but it's time to let go; so I'm leaving the past behind.
As for the "great writer" thing, the marketplace will soon decide that! Thanks. Please log in to respond to this comment.
