You may be shocked if your doctor were to give this prescription: "Keep a guilt-free conscience by being honest, admitting any wrongdoing, and making restitution" . But the Bible implies such a remedy for health and healing.

James 5:14-16a, “ Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed .”

Have you ever done something wrong and felt "sick at the stomach", or just sick? It has happened to me, perhaps more times than I would want to admit: mistreating someone and feeling ill as a result.

My experience, as well as the testimonies of others, has taught me that hidden, unconfessed sin can make or keep you sick. Guilt caused by moral failure can attract disease, not only infirmity of the mind and torment of emotions but also sickness in the body. Keeping a clean, guilt-free conscience should be part of your healthy lifestyle.

A clean conscience makes not only a soft pillow, but it is a key building block for a healthy body as well. So, if this applies to you, contact that person you have wronged or cheated, come clean, ask for forgiveness, make amends, and watch your health improve ... your mental, emotional, psychological, and physical health.
